Delta Gamma Lambda Partners with Hoxworth to encourage the community to serve this season by donating blood
Delta Gamma Lambda Chapter (DGL) is partnering with the Hoxworth Blood Center of University of Cincinnati, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The Blood Drive is Monday, January 15 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, located at 50 East Freedom Way.
Since 2007, DGL has partnered with Hoxworth Blood Center to encourage the public to donate blood to help especially African Americans. The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center serves as the gathering location and is offering free admission for the holiday as part of their Fifth Third Community Day.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate our brother King, as being of service to the community was one of the many pillars in which he stood for, we use his day to recognize that” says Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. DGL Chapter President, Rayshawn Walton. “Through partnering with these great organizations and the community’s generous acts of donating, we know we are celebrating his memory in the utmost honor.”
For guests unable to make the blood drive, Hoxworth will be taking donors at their various locations. Donors have the chance to receive a Hoxworth quarter-zip fleece pullover while supplies last. Please feel free to forward this information to those you believe may be interested in donating.
