Cincinnati Alphas Kick off the year with Back to School Supply Drive

Delta Gamma Lambda and community organizations partner to ensure students across Cincinnati are equipped with supplies and support the begin a successful school year.

The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Gamma Lambda Chapter (Cincinnati Alphas) recently came together for its Back to School Supply Drive, providing students with essential resources and encouragement as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

Held at North College Hill High School, the event served 170 students representing 87 families from across the Greater Cincinnati area. Through the collective efforts of chapter Brothers, and community partners, the initiative distributed over 5,100 school-supply items to help students begin the school year prepared for success.

The impact of the event extended well beyond the number of supplies distributed. Brothers came together and demonstrated the power of brotherhood and a shared commitment to service. Students from 50 different schools were represented, highlighting the broad reach of the initiative and the chapter's continued commitment to supporting youth and families throughout the community.

“We want to make sure our kids are well-equipped mentally and have the proper tools to be successful as they begin the school year in their ongoing learning and development”, says Brother Robert Harris. “By providing these resources, this reinforces and exemplifies our mission of Alphas being of service, and helping to advance everyone, for the benefit of our community.” 

The Back to School Supply Drive exemplified the spirit of service at the heart of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Brothers came together to provide tangible resources while also offering encouragement, support, and a positive start to the school year for students and their families.

Delta Gamma Lambda is proud of the collective effort that made this year's Back to School Supply Drive a success and grateful to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and support. Together, Cincinnati Alphas continue to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, and provide service and advocacy for communities.
