On August 8–9, 2025, the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Gamma Lambda Chapter, gathered in Cincinnati for our annual Chapter Retreat, setting the tone for the 2025–26 fraternal year. Guided by this year’s theme, Brotherhood, Reflection, Renewal, the retreat created space to celebrate our past achievements, strengthen our bonds, and chart a course for the future.
Friday: Welcome, Reflection, and New Beginnings
The retreat opened Friday evening with a welcome reception and chapter check-in, followed by a year-in-review presentation highlighting accomplishments and challenges from 2024–25.

A brotherhood icebreaker activity, “Why I Still Wear the Old Gold & Black,” allowed members to share personal reflections on what continues to inspire their commitment to Alpha.
The evening concluded with the installation and swearing-in of new officers, as well as acknowledgments of Brothers whose leadership and service have strengthened our Chapter.

Saturday: Strategy, Growth, and Brotherhood in Action
Saturday morning began with breakfast and fellowship, setting the stage for a full day of reflection and planning. Brother President Tramell Harper facilitated a discussion on survey results, focusing on strengths to build upon and areas for growth. This led into a broader conversation on Chapter goals and priorities for the new fraternal year.
Brother Quinton Moss presented and led 'Building Better Brothers Stress Management & It’s Impact to the Body'. This insightful presentation offered invaluable information pertaining to health and wellness and covered topics such as sleep management, spending time outdoors to connect with nature, and the importance of maintaining a proper cortisol level.

Brother Samu-El Fowler then guided a group session entitled “What Does Success Look Like?” which encouraged Brothers to collectively define vision, strategy, and measurable outcomes for the Chapter. A powerful fireside reflection closed the afternoon sessions, where Brothers shared personal stories, challenges, and defining moments from their journeys as men of Alpha.
Closing and Looking Ahead
The retreat concluded with final reflections, evaluations, and a benediction, leaving Brothers with renewed energy and focus for the work ahead.
“Through the information and activities provided over the two days, Brothers left feeling engaged and better connected — which is exactly what I aim to reestablish as I serve as Chapter President,” said Brother Tramell Harper. “I am excited about the impact we will make, both internally and externally, as we look to take our mission of developing leaders, promoting brotherhood and academic excellence, and providing service and advocacy for our communities, to the next level.”
